About This Event

The Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo is a traveling rodeo that honors the legacy of Bill Pickett by showcasing Black, Native American, Hispanic and women competitors in traditional western events such as bronc and bull riding, roping, steer wrestling (bulldogging) and barrel racing. Held at Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth’s historic Stockyards, the rodeo is notable for spotlighting the contributions of Black cowboys to Western heritage and preserving a largely underrepresented chapter of rodeo history.
